Mobile Transshipment Machines for SEA INVEST

In collaboration with SEA INVEST, Deprez Construct NV developed a mobile transshipment solution for efficiently moving bulk raw materials from storage areas to the quay.

“In the first phase, we were asked to design a mobile transshipment machine,” says Johan Deprez, Senior Advisor at Deprez. “On sites like this, it is not uncommon for raw materials to be stored a kilometer away from the loading quays. To ensure efficient internal transport, we built transshipment machines that are loaded and pulled by gigantic bulldozers, allowing materials to be smoothly discharged onto the barge.”

According to Rik Hoorelbeke, Sales Executive Bulk & Recycling at Deprez, the main challenges were:

• Efficiently transporting large volumes of heavy materials
• Managing the huge size of bulldozers and loaders, which affects transshipment speed
• Machine flexibility, allowing switching between two types of materials and two transfer speeds
• Highly abrasive materials, requiring durable construction
